Ultrasonic Evaluation of Adhesive Bond Strength Using Spectroscopic Techniques
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this program statistical analysis of ultrasonically determined parameters was used to identify the features of acoustic wave propagation in adhesively bonded structures which could be used to determine adhesive bond strength. The parameters associated with the interaction of ultrasonic waves with the adhesive-aluminum interfaces and adhesive interlayer which were investigated included bondline transit time, amplitude ratios of reflections from the various interfaces, frequency dependent attenuation and spectral resonance characteristics. Aluminum specimens with both etched and as-received surface preparation were studied. The capabilities of the Fokker bondtester for adhesive strength determinati-on were also assessed. Adaptive learning techniques were used to statistically examine correlation between the observed acoustic properties and shear strength for 394 specimens.

Shear bond strength evaluation of resin composite to resin-modified glass-ionomer cement using three different resin adhesives vs. glass-ionomer based adhesive
Background: The clinical success of sandwich technique depends on the strength of resin-modified glass ionomer cement (RMGIC) bonding to both dentin and resin composite. Therefore, the shear bond strength (SBS) of resin composite bonded to RMGIC utilizing different resin adhesives versus a GIC-based adhesive was compared. Materials and methods: In this in vitro study, 84 holes (5×2 mm) were pre...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Effect of Sodium Hypochlorite Irrigant on Pull-out Bond Strength of FRC Posts Using Different Resin Cements
Introduction: To evaluate the effects of using sodium hypochlorite irrigant on pull-out bond strength of self-etch and self-adhesive resin cements to dentin. Methods: Sixty intact premolars were decoronated and the root canals were prepared by step-back technique. The teeth were divided into two groups according to the irrigant used during root canal treatment: 5.25% sodium hypochlorite and nor...
متن کاملComparison of Shear Bond Strength of Composite Restorations to Intact Enamel of Primary Incisors When Using Different Conditioners and Adhesive Systems
Introdouction: Esthetic demands of patients have led to the introduction of tooth-colored restorations wherecomposite resins are bonded to the enamel using acid etch techniques. Total etch adhesion systems are still considered as the gold standard among bonding systems. However, clinicians have a tendency to use adhesive systems with simpler application procedures. The aim of the present stu...
متن کاملEffect of Tannic Acid Application on Durability of Bond of Etch and Rinse Adhesive Resins
Aim: To determine the effect of different concentrations and application times of tannic acid on bond strength to dentin. Materials and Methods: Occlusal surfaces of 180 human molars were randomly divided into two groups of immediate shear bond strength evaluation and evaluation after 2 months of storage in collagenase solution. Each group was divided into 10 subgroups according to the solution...
متن کاملEvaluation of microtensile bond strength of repaired dental resin composite using different surface treatment techniques: A laboratory study
Background and Aims: Today, resin composites are one of the most commonly used materials in restorative dentistry. However, failure in resin treatments is also common due to its chemical nature and its high talent for decay recurrence. According to conservative approaches, "conservative" treatments are more likely to be considered than "Replacement" of damaged remedies. The purpose of this stud...
